Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico “The Duke City”
The metropolis of New Mexico, Albuquerque is situated on the Rio Grande at an elevation of 4988 ft., and is approximately the center of the state. The busy city of today was founded by Gov. Cuervo in 1706 and named for the Duke of Alburquerque. Later the first R in the name was dropped, with the coming of the Americans.
