This site is designed to provide information on federal interagency and cooperative developments related to coastal sand and gravel resources and management issues along the Atlantic continental margin.  It was created in late 1999 to report on results of coordination meetings initiated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Minerals Management Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey.  These meetings have included state organizations, academic institutions, and private persons.  A special demonstration project has been initiated for the NY-NJ area, but interest in other areas continues.

  DEVELOPMENTS (August 2000-July 2001)

NY/NJ Bathymetric/Topographic Data Integration: A workshop was held Nov. 15, 2000, Silver Spring, Maryland. Objectives were to upgrade resolution and documentation of bathymetric coverage through integration and correction of existing data. Below results include post-meeting developments.
