Introduction

Ecosystems  Ecosystems involve complex relationships between living organisms and their environment.

Boston Harbor History  Redevelopment of wastewater treatment systems for Boston Harbor and surrounding areas began in 1985 by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. Since then many studies on the biology, chemistry, geology, and hydrology of the area have been performed.

This web site  This web site is an outgrowth of an agreement between the USGS and the New England Aquarium. It is designed to summarize and make available results of scientific research. It will also present educational material of interest to wide audiences. The information presented here forms a starting point. New material will be added by citation from authorized sources, and by authors and agencies who cooperate by presenting their data.
