Work Plan for the Wildlife Component
Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) National Assessment
Great Plains GIS Partnership (G2P2) habitat modeling
The Great Plains GIS Partnership (G2P2) is a collaborative effort between the Playa Lakes Joint Venture, Rainwater Basin Joint Venture, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and Central Platte Natural Resources District. G2P2 was formed to improve cooperation, communication, reduce redundancy, and accelerate the application of GIS technology towards landscape level planning for wildlife conservation.
USDA
Natural Resource Conservation Service
has entered into an agreement among the Playa Lakes Joint Venture and
USDA Farm Service Agency
in order to develop a collaborative assessment of the effects of USDA conservation programs and practices on avian fauna in Bird Conservation Region 19 (Central Mixed-grass Prairie) in support of the CEAP Wildlife Component. This agreement enables CEAP to leverage existing GIS technology and landscape habitat modeling resources of G2P2 to obtain scientifically credible estimates of habitat contributions for priority bird species in the Great Plains attributable to USDA conservation programs and practices.
