  On August 25, 2008, The U.S. Department of Labor announced a $20 million grant to the state of Florida to fund the creation of approximately 6,500 temporary jobs for cleanup and recovery efforts underway in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Fay. Click here for the press release.

  On July 21, 2008, The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration announced the awarding of nearly $9 million to 11 groups that will provide skills-based education in construction to at-risk young people in 10 states and the District of Columbia through the department’s YouthBuild program.
