Cert Description
The Independence CERT program has offered five courses since September 2003, with total participants numbering 78. Courses have been sponsored by the Independence Public Schools, Neighborhood Watch, Independence chapter of R.A.C.E.S., and one was open to the public. Two more courses are scheduled for March - May 2004. Independence fire fighters and EMS personnel provide CERT instruction in 8 three-hour sessions. The next phase of marketing the CERT program will target companies with large numbers of employees and organized neighborhood organizations.
