| Buffalo Grove started it's CERT program in September of 2005 with the graduation of 18 students. In addition to be prepared to respond to incidents where they may be on their own for hours or days until first responders can get to them, The CERT members are trained in AHA CPR & First Aid so that they are able to man the First Aid Tent at the annual BG Art Festival and during the Buffalo Grove Days Celebration. members have been trained to participate in the Mass pharmaceutical Distribution clinics run by the Cook County Dept of Public Health. These are the clinics that would dispense antibiotics or vaccines in the event of a public health emergency. |
