| Cert Description |
| Develop CERT programs and teams, provide advanced and supplemental training to citizen volunteers, equip CERT teams where possible and maintain data for Community Emergency Response Teams and Programs to ensure continuity and to enable citizens to respond effectively and safely to disasters and other extraordinary events within the Incident Command Structures of their respective Communities.
1. Organize and conduct CERT training classes utilizing the services
of Community Emergency Managers and local CERT Instructors;
2. Promote the establishment and maintenance of effective lines of
communication between each CERT and the appropriate Incident Command System(s);
3. Endeavor to equip and supply CERTs such that they can achieve their maximum potential to save lives and property when called upon;
4. Publicize AVERT and CERT activities and programs to, and promote awareness of (and support for) the CERT programs among government entities, businesses, communities, and individuals;
5. Strive to increase the level of disaster preparedness in all
sectors of the community. |
