Cert Description
The CERT program in Layton City is taught by paid instructors from our fire department. Classes cost $10 per person for Layton residents and are usually offered 3 to 4 times per year. Our goal is to have CERT trained people in every neighborhood to assist their families and neighbors during emergencies in the event professional emergency responders cannot respond in a timely manner. The City is organized into Districts, Areas and Neighborhoods. During an emergency, the City would coordinate with District Coordinators to determine citizen needs and the availability of CERT trained citizens.
