| The Skagit CERT program began in April, 2000 and is organized and managed cooperatively by the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management and the City of Mount Vernon Fire Department.
Skagit CERT concentrates on delivering the CERT program to school district personnel, county and municipal employees, and the general public.To date, approximately 200 persons have been CERT-trained within Skagit County.
Skagit CERT graduates are strongly encouraged to complete additional training in first-aid and CPR as well as participate in Skagit CERT on-going training classes. In addition, a 4-hour CERT overview cours has been developed for delivery to local school district personnel for use as in-service staff training or as a CERT refresher course.
Skagit CERT publishes a quarterly newsletter that is distributed to all Skagit CERT volunteers. |
