| The South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA)is designated by New Jersey Statute as a quasi-government state agency which owns and operates the Atlantic City Expressway and the Atlantic City International Airport.
The SJTA CERT will be comprised of employees of the SJTA. Briefly, the SJTA employs craftsmen, public works, heavy equipment operators, EMS/Fire, office and clerical staff among other disciplines. Additionally, the SJTA has resources such as personnel, heavy equipment, trucks and operational personnel at it's disposal.
The goals of the program are to involve the SJTA in concept CERT, provide a core group of volunteers training in CERT operations and ultimately, have the availablity of a CERT Team in the event of a disaster occurring at the Atlantic City Airport and/or the Atlantic City Expressway. |
