| Cert Description |
| We have had a CERT program in place since 1998. We have over 80 trained team members as well as many teams within the business community. This year, we merged with two other communities, Fair Lawn and Ridgewood, NJ and are teaching classes for all three jurisdictions. This offers a better class and more assistance when required. CERT members attend a variety of other training courses including Shelter Managers, Animal Preparedness, and Communications. They also partiicapate in annual full scale exercises and drills. Our program has gotten the attention of the White House Citizen Corps office, the Chicago Tribune, and MSNBC. The students attend 3 hour classes, 1 night a week for 9 weeks (27 hours).
