Planetary Data System (PDS)

The Planetary Data System (PDS) is an archive of data products from NASA planetary missions, which is sponsored by the NASA Office of Space Science. We actively manage the archive to maximize its usefulness, and it has become a basic resource for scientists around the world. All PDS-produced products are peer-reviewed, well-documented, and easily accessible via a system of online catalogs that are organized by planetary disciplines.

Planetary Data System Search

  • The PSD data search provides a way to search the data sets and products by selecting one or more search parameters such as mission, target, instrument, start/stop times, and discipline node. Once the initial criteria have been selected, all data sets which match that criteria are listed to the screen in a table, along with a description of the data set, a list of products to download, and links to other resources (e.g. web pages) associated with the data set.
  • PDS Explorer peruses the PDS's online archive volumes. A list of data set IDs may be filtered by target, mission or instrument. In addition, a portion of the data set ID may be used to filter the results.
