National Farmworker Jobs Program and Housing Assistance for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers (SGA/DFA 03-108)

The U.S. Department of Labor (the Department or DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Office of National Programs (ONP), Division of Seasonal Farm Worker Programs (DSFP), announces a grant competition for operating the National Farm Worker Jobs Program (NFJP), AND for housing assistance for migrants and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs), under Section 167 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA), 29 U.S.C. 9201. All applicants for grant funds should read this notice in its entirety.

Grants for Intermediaries (SGA/DFA 03-104)

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), announces the availability of $3.5 million to award grants to eligible intermediary organizations. Under this 2003 competition, eligible "intermediaries" are defined as those non-profit, community, and/or faith-based organizations with established connections and working relationships to grassroots faith-based and community organizations with the ability to connect those smaller organizations and the people they serve to the local One-Stop delivery system.

Work Incentive Grants (SGA/DFA 03-102)

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), announces the availability of approximately $17 million to award competitive grants designed to enhance the employability, employment and career advancement of people with disabilities through enhanced service delivery in the new One-Stop delivery system established under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA). The Work Incentive Grant program will provide grant funds to consortia and/or partnerships of public and private non-profit entities working in coordination with the One-Stop delivery system to augment the existing programs and services and ensure programmatic access and streamlined, seamless service delivery for people with disabilities.

Notice of Procedures for Grant Applications for H-1B Technical Skills Training Grants (SGA/DFA 03-100)

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announces the availability of approximately $200 million in grant funds for skill training programs for unemployed and employed workers. These grants are financed by a user fee paid by employers to bring foreign workers into the U.S. under a new H-1B nonimmigrant visa. As part of the H-1B nonimmigrant visa program, this technical skills training program was authorized under the American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 (ACWIA), as amended. The grants are a long-term solution to domestic skill shortages in high skill and high technology occupations.

Senior Community Service Employment Program Grants for PY 2003 (SGA/DFA 02-111)

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL or the Department), Division of Older Worker Programs (DOWP) of the Employment and Training Administration (ETA), announces a grant competition for the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) authorized under title V of the Older Americans Act Amendments of 2000 (OAA Amendments), Pub. L. 106-501; 42 USC 3056 et seq. These projects will promote part-time employment opportunities in community service activities for unemployed, low-income individuals who are age 55 and over, and will foster increased prospects for their economic self-sufficiency. Under this solicitation, DOWP anticipates that approximately $342,000,000 will be available for grant awards in Program Year (PY) 2003 (July 1, 2003 - June 30, 2004).
