South Umpqua Road Temporary Traffic DelayContact: Pam Robson, (541) 825-3100 TILLER, OR – September 9, 2008 – Traffic on South Umpqua Road (Rd 28), will be temporarily halted near milepost 6 on Wednesday, September 17, at the junction of Johnnie Springs Road (Rd 2810). Flaggers will be posted during the delay which is expected to be approximately 30 minutes. Traffic will be delayed to allow a helicopter to transport construction supplies from the road to the far side of the South Umpqua River. The Tiller Ranger District fisheries crew will use the supplies to improve the effectiveness of salmon and steelhead monitoring. The project is being paid by Title II funds from the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000, also known as "Payments to Counties". If you have questions about the project or for updated road information, please contact Pam Robson at the Tiller Ranger District, 541-825-3100. # # # |
