Brad Winter serves as City Council President for the Eighteenth Council. He also served as President of the Council in 2001, 2002, and 2005 .
President Winter is the Chief Operations Officer for the Albuquerque Public Schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Oklahoma and his Master of Arts and Doctorate of Education degrees at the University of New Mexico.
While at the University of Oklahoma, Brad was an All-American pole vaulter. He continues to compete in pole vaulting and has won his age division at the local and national level.
Brad Winter is serving in his third term representing District 4 and is the senior councilor, serving longer than any other seated councilor.
In addition to pole vaulting, Brad is an avid fly fisherman. He is married to Nann and they have seven children.

Council Creates Task Force to Review City Charter
A task force is being developed to review the City of Albuquerque Charter and make recommendations for proposed revisions.
Legislation to Conduct Yearly Fire Safety Inspections on Private and Public Schools within City of Albuquerque
Council President Brad Winter is introducing a resolution to have the City Fire Marshall develop a schedule to provide for the inspection of all private and public schools including charter schools for grades K through 12, within the City of Albuquerque, at least once a year.
Concerns from April 7, 2008 City Council Meeting

Red Light Camera Discussion with Councilor Brad Winter

Legislation to Prohibit Issuance of STOP Fines
City Councilor Brad Winter (District 4), introduced legislation today prohibiting the issuance of any STOP fines (red light and speeding cameras and vans) until the Council has had an opportunity to review the findings of the Mayor’s Task Force which is due to be reported to the Council on January 15, 2008.
