Biography:
Dr. Timothy M. Pinkston currently serves as the Lead Program Director for the Expeditions in Computing Program in the CISE Directorate at NSF. Dr. Pinkston is on leave from the University of Southern California where he is a Professor in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering in the Viterbi School of Engineering. He was formerly a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, a Hughes Doctoral Fellow at Hughes Research Laboratory, and a visiting researcher at IBM T. J. Watson Research Laboratory. Dr. Pinkston has expertise in the interconnection networks area of computer architecture, with particular emphasis on high-performance communication architectures for multicore and multiprocessor systems. Dr. Pinkston is widely published and has served the technical community through leadership and associate editorship of several international workshops, conferences, and journals. Dr. Pinkston is a graduate of The Ohio State University (BSEE'85) and Stanford University (MSEE'86 and PhD'93).
