  • A portion of the   Pinhoti National Recreation is temporarily closed due to tornado damage. The closed portion is south of the Shoal Creek Ranger District office where the trail enters the forest off Highway 281, to north of Interstate 20 at Forest Service Road 519. The trail has been temporarily re-routed as a road walk along Highway 281 for approximately 3.2 miles.
  • Bankhead National Forest Flint Creek Multiple-Use Trail is now open.
  • Porters Gap Trailhead (off Highway 77) is now open to the public.

Visit the one-stop website http://www.recreation.gov to find your recreation location anywhere in the United States including Alabama's National Forests.

 

You can also use Recreation.gov to make reservations and payments online for tours, camp sites and other accommodations.  Learn about boating safety, sign up to volunteer at federal sites, or "share your story" about driving national scenic byways.

 

Contact any one of the six ranger districts listed below for information when planning to visit recreation sites in the Bankhead, Conecuh, Talladega or Tuskegee National Forest.
