reservation services for BWCAW change for the remainder of
this season

Restrictions
Lifted in Blowdown Area of BWCAW
As of 12:00 noon, today, Wednesday, September
3, 2008, the decision is to lift current restrictions and
to allow the use of campfires, charcoal, and wood-burning
camp stoves in the blowdown area in the Boundary Waters Canoe
Area Wilderness (BWCAW). At the same time the Border Route
Trail system and the Kekekabic Trail will re-open for public

Passport
in Time Project to “Rehab” Historic CCC Guard Cabin on
Superior National Forest
Volunteers
will be working with Forest Heritage staff to rehabilitate
the Sawbill Guard Cabin, located on the Tofte Ranger District,
as part of Passport in Time (PIT), a volunteer archaeology
and historic preservation program of the US Forest Service.(MORE)
