Little Beaver Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project

The Cabinet Ranger District is preparing an environmental analysis for the Little Beaver Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project. The analysis will be conducted utilizing the Healthy Forest Restoration Act authority and is expected to be released in April of 2009. This project is located within the Wildland Urban Interface in the Little Beaver Creek Drainage. MORE

The Prospect Hill Mineral Exploration and Access EA analyzes the effects of access to private land, across NFS land, to private property in the Prospect Creek drainage along with re-opening mine adits for mineral exploration. MORE

Rebuild of the Libby (FEC) to Troy Section of Bonneville Power Administration's Libby to Bonners Ferry 115-Kilovolt Transmission Line Project

On July 30, 2008, Forest Supervisor Paul Bradford made a decision to issue a Special Use Permit to Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) for implementation of the Proposed Action with the Kootenai River crossing realignment as analyzed and documented in the Rebuild of the Libby (FEC) to Troy Section of BPA’s Libby to Bonners Ferry 115-kilovolt Transmission Line Project Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). Motor Vehicle Use Map Project

The Forest Service released the final rule for managing recreational Off Highway Vehicle use on the National Forests in November 2005. The Rule provides a framework for each National Forest to identify and designate roads, trails, and areas suitable for motorized use, and prohibits use of motor vehicles off the designated system.
