Managing Editor of the Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data, Robert L. Watters, Jr., Chief of the Measurement Services Division, announces the retirement of long-time Technical Editor and contributor to the Journal, Malcolm W. Chase, Jr.

Dr. Watters also is pleased to announce that the Journal now has two new Co-Technical Editors, Dr. Donald R. Burgess, Jr. and Dr. Allan H. Harvey.  Dr. Burgess is a Research Chemist in the Real Fuels Project (Computational Chemistry Group) of the Physical and Chemical Properties Division at NIST.  His research interests lie in the areas of physical and chemical databases, thermochemical and chemical kinetic data for chemical processes in combustion and atmospheric chemistry, semiconductor processing, and related areas.  Dr. Harvey is a Chemical Engineer with the Theory and Modeling of Fluids Group of the Physical and Chemical Properties Division, NIST Boulder.  Harvey’s research interests lie in the areas of phase-equilibrium thermodynamics, thermodynamics of dilute solutions, properties of humid gases, and thermophysical properties of water and aqueous systems.

The Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data is published by the American Institute of Physics for the National Institute of Standards and Technology.  Content is published online daily and collected into quarterly online and printed issues.  The objective of the Journal is to provide critically evaluated physical and chemical property data fully documented as to the original sources and the criteria used for evaluation. The Journal was first published for then-NBS in 1972.  Interested NIST authors will find the Instructions for Preparation of Manuscripts located at http://www.nist.gov/srd/Instructions.pdf.  They may contact the Editors directly or editorial staff at NIST (Linda Diane Decker) at jpcrd@nist.gov.
