Susan B. Bryant

In August, 2005, Susan Bryant was named Director of Communications and Public Liaison of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, after having served as Deputy Director of Communications for the Office of Personnel Management from June, 2002.

For nearly two decades prior to joining OPM, Ms. Bryant owned a survey research and communications company conducting international research and consulting on national media and corporate management issues. She has extensive experience working on Capitol Hill in roles including as Chief of Staff for a former U.S. Congressman George M. O’Brien (R-IL).

Ms. Bryant is an accomplished and sought-after public speaker. She has made appearances on C-SPAN, CNN, CBS, PBS programs and on a number of radio stations. She has been widely quoted in many news outlets including Washington Post…   She has lectured on communications skills at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, at Yale University, and the Center for Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University, where she served as a member of the Executive Board.  Bryant has also lectured on several other college campuses, at political and civic organizations around the country and has been a speaker for the Capitol Hill and White House Workshops sponsored by the Federal Employee Institute Alumni Association. 

Susan and her husband Jay reside in Maryland. They have two grown daughters and five grandchildren.
