Lucky Paws Pet Adoption Center
Now Open!
Lucky Paws, the first municipal retail pet adoption center, is now open in Coronado Center (map). Located by Western Warehouse, Lucky Paws is a welcoming and pleasant adoption center to showcase wonderful pets available for adoption.
Lucky Paws mission:
Serve as tireless champions for the animals of Albuquerque by providing them the finest care available along with hands-on assistance in finding happy homes.Help us spread the word!
- Encourage potential pet adopters to go to Lucky Paws.
- Adopt or buy pets from reputable breeders with valid permits. Do not patronize backyard breeders or puppy mills.
Lucky Paws Hours
Monday - Saturday 10 AM to 9 PM
Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM
All Lucky Paws pets will be spayed or neutered and immunized, ready to go to their new, loving homes. All new pet parents must meet the City of Albuquerque qualified adopter requirements.
Who is a qualified adopter?
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Has never been convicted of any form of cruelty under any law
- Has never been convicted two or more times for any violation of the HEART Ordinance or any preceding animal ordinance
- Has never had any animal related permit revoked or suspended
- Has never failed to reclaim an animal from AACC
- Has not surrendered an animal within one year of the time of adoption
- Has never been convicted of child or domestic abuse.
Holds
Since all Lucky Paws pets are ready and eager to go home there will be no holds or layaways so potential adopters should be ready to take their new friend home.
Parking
We suggest parking on the southeast end of Coronado Center between Mervyn's and Western Warehouse since new pet parents are not allowed to show off their new friends by cruising the mall. The Lucky Paws staff will help you get your new best friend into your vehicle.
