Free Parking for Hybrid and Fuel-Efficient Vehicles

If you drive a hybrid, alternative fuel, or fuel efficient vehicle, you can park for free at City meters!

Parking Meter

Thanks to the City of Albuquerque, if you drive a hybrid, alternative fuel, or fuel-efficient car, you can park for free at any City parking meter for the specified time limit of the meter! Get more details

Time Limit

Be warned that free parking does not last all day! Each meter in the City has a time limit. That is how long the hybrid vehicle can park at the meter without getting a ticket.

How to Get your Permit

Your vehicle must be registered with the City’s Parking Office, located in Room 510 of the Plaza Del Sol building (map). You will be issued an identification sticker that must be placed on the left rear bumper or left rear window of the vehicle.
