The
Professional Grounds Management Society
(PGMS) was established in 1911 as a professional society
for the individual with the purpose of education and professional
advancement. The majority of PGMS members are institutional grounds
managers who work for organizations such as colleges and universities,
municipalities, park and recreation facilities, office parks, apartment
complexes, hotels/motels, cemeteries, theme parks, etc.

Off the 2009 Site Visit and Seminar Series in California!
The
Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) will be coming to
San Diego on March 19-20 and we want YOU to be there for the first
stop in our 2009 Regional Grounds Management Seminars & Site
Visitations Series.
Designed
to provide grounds managers with the hard-to-find opportunity to
gain knowledge, ask questions, and network with their peers, this
interactive program will feature education seminars on must-know

One
Week Left to Comment on Latest Report
The
public comment period for the latest Sustainable Sites Initiative
report closes on January 20. The Initiative will create the most
comprehensive set of voluntary national guidelines ever developed
for sustainable landscapes. The latest report, titled Guidelines
and Performance Benchmarks - Draft 2008, provides more than 50 prerequisites
and credits that cover everything from initial site selection and
design to construction and maintenance. Click here to download the

Public comments will inform the final Guidelines and Performance
Benchmarks which will be released in 2009.

North
Carolina's Jamie Moore Earns CGM Status
The
Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has announced that
Jamie Moore of Winston-Salem, N.C. has become the 116th grounds
management professional to successfully complete its Certified Grounds
Manager (CGM) program. Jamie currently serves as the manager of
landscape services at the University of North Carolina School of
the Arts where he has been for the past nine years. Click
