The Annual Computer Security Applications Conference (ACSAC) is a premier security conference of outstanding tradition. Started in 1985, the conference has grown over the years to achieve worldwide attendance and recognition for the high quality of its presentations, discussions, and interactions.

ACSAC offers a remarkable forum for computer and network security experts from industry, academia and government to meet, present and exchange ideas on recent security threats, vulnerabilities, and the solutions we can use or build to counter them. ACSAC is forward-looking, defining solutions to today's and tomorrow's major threats and security problems. The overall focus is on applied, rather than theoretical, security, with an emphasis on managing security during the lifecycle of systems, not just using point solutions.

ACSAC typically offers a full week of leading edge presentations.

  • Two days of full and half day tutorials offer in-depth lectures and hands-on training on most recent security topics that focus on applied rather than theoretical security, so ideas and solutions you will find here might be directly applicable to your work.
  • A full-day workshop is offered early in the week, on a topic of immediate interest to a large group of experts, with lively interactions from those who are immersed in the area.
  • During the second part of the week we build on our scientific and practical legacy (represented by our Classic Paper presentation) and look toward the future - with the Distinguished Practitioner and Invited Essayist presentations
  • An outstanding selection of peer-reviewed papers can be enjoyed during the technical sessions
  • Several panels are offered as part of the technical sessions as well
  • Case studies on leading edge topics of wide interest are presented in a separate track
  • The Works in Progress session packs many 5-minute informative presentations on recent results and exciting work still underway

All these sessions and tutorials are fully qualified as Continuing Education credits toward CISSP and similar security certifications.

ACSAC offers significant opportunities to network with the best in the security field, during the formal sessions and informally throughout the week. The lunches, Tuesday night reception, and Wednesday night dinner (included in the conference fee) are additional times to meet colleagues at leisure.

Caring for the next generation of security professionals, ACSAC offers conferenceships for students who otherwise would not be able to attend the conference. The conferenceship covers hotel, registration and a cash award to help defray travel costs.

We hope to see you at the conference. Register now to guarantee your place.
