Maintain and improve your conversational ability. Weekly discussions, conducted entirely in Spanish, cover a wide range of participant-selected topics. Past subjects have included current events in Latin America, music, art, theater, cinema, current authors and articles.

To help perfect student's oral communication through weekly discussions of various social, cultural, technological and scientific themes in Spanish. Students will have the opportunity to significantly improve their grasp of high-intermediate level oral discourse in Spanish, as well as gain a stronger understanding of Spanish grammar and overall Hispanic culture.

Learning Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to communicate easily in spoken Spanish, using high-intermediate level grammar and a well-rounded vocabulary including cultural, scientific, social and technological themes relevant to contemporary Hispanic culture.

Instruction
This course will consist of weekly discussions, speeches, debates, simulations, oral quizzes and various other oral activities. The course's activities will follow a variety of social, scientific and cultural themes which will contribute to students' increased fluency in oral Spanish, their knowledge of vocabulary and contemporary Hispanic culture. Students will also have the ability to contribute thematic ideas for the course. Grammatical review will be conducted on an as-needed basis, and will include a variety of high-intermediate level grammatical topics.

Methods of instruction include lectures (both student and instructor led), presentations, group activities, video presentations, oral quizzes, projects, participation, homework, and a final oral proficiency examination.
