I commend the Senate for confirming David Norquist as the Chief Finance Officer for the Department of Homeland Security.  Sound financial management is crucial to effective mission performance and Dave shares my deep commitment to our stewardship responsibilities for the taxpayers.

Dave brings important management experience to the department from his role as Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Budget and Appropriations Affairs.  He will be responsible for the management of the department’s budget, finances and accounting, and he will be integral in strategic planning.

Dave will strengthen financial controls and overall accountability, and I look forward to working with him daily.
