Tropical Cyclone Advisory Mailing Lists

NHC's tropical cyclone text products are available by email. This form allows you to subscribe and unsubscribe to any of the lists currently offered. The lists are arranged by region (Atlantic and E. Pacific), with the choice of receiving the advisories and bulletins you want.

Please Note: This is an experimental service. Interruptions or duplications in email deliveries while we enhance the system are to be expected. Notices will be sent if any extended interruptions are encountered.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are currently accepting subscriptions to the advisory email lists, but we ask you to only subscribe to the lists you absolutely "must have". Because our resources are limited, we have had to limit the number of new subscribers and number of messages being sent. When a "forecast package" is released, it can generate 250,000+ emails and we want to facilitate timely delivery to all subscribers. If we must impose future limits, a notice will be posted to this page.

NOTICE TO AOL SUBSCRIBERS: AOL subscribers who identify the NHC email advisories as "spam" or "junkmail" to AOL will be removed from the lists per AOL's recommendation. We include instructions and addresses in every advisory to help you unsubscribe from the lists.

Disclaimer: This server may not be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Timely delivery of data and products from this server through the Internet is not guaranteed. Please read the full Disclaimer for more information.

Privacy: You must provide a valid email address to subscribe to the service. The server will reply to the address given to verify that the address is valid. The email address is stored on the server only as long as you are subscribed to the service. Please read the NHC Privacy Statement for full details on information gathered by the website.

The following products are available via email during the hurricane season - June 1 through November 30 for the Atlantic, May 15 through November 30 for the Eastern Pacific. (Click product name for a description and example)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that you can choose which products the NHC issues. Please only subscribe to the lists you are interested in. Each list will send an advisory for each pertinent active storm, so the number of emails increases substantially with the number of tropical cyclones the NHC is currently tracking. If you want to subscribe to multiple lists, you must visit this page again and subscribe to each list separately.

What is your email address?

Providing this information is voluntary. A valid email address is necessary in order to receive the advisories. Please see the NHC Privacy Statement for more information on our policies regarding your information.

NOTE: the user-name portion of your email address (the part before the "@" sign) is case-sensitive. The rest of the address is not. This can cause some problems in unsubscribing if you use a different case than what you use here. We suggest that you try and match the case used in your regular email software.

CHANGING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS: If you need to change or update your email address, we ask that you unsubscribe from the current list (see the bottom of one of our email advisories for instructions.) Then, you can visit this page and re-subscribe using your new email address.

EMAILS NOT BEING RECEIVED: We have received reports (and confirmed) that some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are treating our email service as spam. This can cause our email delivery to fail. Alternatively, some ISPs and some email software may filter our email and send it to a "spam" folder. If you are having trouble receiving all email messages, please check your spam folder settings and/or ask your ISP for assistance.

EMAILS FOR THE CENTRAL PACIFIC: Beginning with the 2007 season, email advisories for the Central Pacific are available from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.

If you have additional questions or require assistance with the mailing lists, please send them to nhcwebmaster@noaa.gov.
