Brain Physiology and Metabolism Section Postdoctoral Training Opportunity | |
Lipid Enzyme Chemistry: A postdoctoral position is available to study brain lipid metabolism and fatty acid turnover. The successful candidate will investigate how small molecules inhibit and/or modify the critical brain enzymes governing the anabolic and catabolic metabolism of brain lipids. | |
A background in enzyme kinetics, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology is essential. Expertise in enzyme isolation and purification from whole tissue, prokaryotic and eukaryotic protein expression systems, enzyme activity assays, and site-directed mutagenesis is helpful.
