Hydrogeophysics: Characterization and Monitoring of Subsurface Parameters and Processes

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Bucknell University, Stanford University, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory cosponsored a special session on "Hydrogeophysics: Characterization and Monitoring of Subsurface Parameters and Processes" at the American Geophysical Union's Annual Fall Meeting, San Francisco, California, December 13-17, 2004. Scientists from many organizations presented information on the use of geophysical methods to characterize and monitor of subsurface processes such as contaminant transport and remediation. The information at the session could be used by water-resource managers and site cleanup professionals to develop more cost-effective characterization and monitoring programs and systems.
