International Symposium on Pesticides, Their Degradates, and Adjuvants

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is co-sponsoring the "International Symposium on Pesticides, Their Degradates, and Adjuvants" in Prague, Czech Republic, June 4, 2004. The symposium will focus on the current state of knowledge on the fate, effects and treatability of degradates and adjuvants from a drinking-water perspective. The conference will appeal to utility professionals, regulators and academics interested in pesticide fate. Recent U.S. and European monitoring data have shown detectable concentrations of pesticide degradates in surface and ground water. Very little is known about the fate of adjuvants. The symposium is part of an Awwa Research Foundation (AwwaRF) funded study.

Invited Talk

Dana Kolpin, USGS, will give an invited talk on "Degradates: Monitoring and Occurrence" at the symposium. The talk will feature recent research from the USGS on the fate of pesticides in the environment.
