USGS Scientist to Give Keynote Address at Methylmercury SymposiumDr. David P. Krabbenhoft has been invited to give a keynote address at the symposium "Methylmercury (Impacts on Wildlife and Human Health)" in Charleston, South Carolina, on April 9, 2001. Dr. Krabbenhoft, a scientist with the U.S. Geological Survey's Toxic Substances Hydrology Program, will talk about his research on the fate of mercury in aquatic ecosystems. Dr. Krabbenhoft will give a national perspective on "mercury loading and transformations in aquatic ecosystems and its bioaccumulation in fishes," highlighting research conducted under the Toxic Substances Hydrology Program, as well as other U.S. Geological Survey programs. His talk will follow a keynote address by Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy. Senator Leahy will give a "broad overview of the threat of mercury contamination to wildlife and human health in the United States, and the world." Information on the Symposium
