Emerging Contaminants in the Aquatic Environment - Risk & Regulatory Perspectives

The USGS co-sponsored the Society for Risk Analysis' and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry's workshop on "Emerging Contaminants in the Aquatic Environment - Risk & Regulatory Perspectives" on October 3-4, 2002, in Raleigh, NC. The objective of this workshop was to discuss and present the latest research on emerging contaminants within the context of risk assessment and to discuss water resources policy with regard to these emerging contaminants. Results from the Toxics Program's reconnaissance for pharmaceuticals in U.S. Streams was presented at the meeting.
