Survey-Related

Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE): 2003 — Estimates of population and poverty for school districts, as well as income and poverty estimates for states and counties. Included are estimates of the number of poor children ages 5 to 17 in the nation’s 15,000 school districts. (Tentatively scheduled for release early-December.)

Fertility of American Women: June 2004 — Profiles current fertility patterns of American women by age, race, ethnicity, education, marital status, income and nativity. Also contains labor force participation data by fertility status. (Tentatively scheduled for release early-December.)

Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2006 — Latest edition of the national data book, a perennial government best seller, published since 1878. This edition introduces 80 new tables, including several from the American Community Survey. In recognition of this being the 125th edition, historical tables are included at the beginning of each section to highlight related data first appearing in earlier editions. (Tentatively scheduled for release early-December.)

Consumer Expenditure Survey — Data about how much Americans spend on groceries, clothing, health care and housing will be collected in January from a sample of randomly selected households across the country as part of the Consumer Expenditure Survey. (This announcement is tentatively scheduled for release in mid-December).

2002 Economic Census: Subject Series — Fifty-seven reports for several industry sectors – all at the national level – are now being issued on a flow basis. These reports include information such as product shipments by contributing industries. All 883 geographic area series reports and 651 industry reports have been published. Available at http://www.census.gov/econ/census02/.

 

Survey-Related

2004 Service Annual Survey: Securities, Commodities and Other Financial Investments — Tabulations contain revenues for securities and commodity underwriters; dealers and brokers; and other financial industries. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-November.)

2004 Service Annual Survey: Information Sector Services (NAICS 51) — Estimated revenue data for employer firms that provide information sector services. The main components of this sector are publishing industries, including software publishing, and both traditional publishing and publishing exclusively on the Internet; the motion picture and sound recording industries; the broadcasting industries, including traditional broadcasting and those broadcasting exclusively over the Internet; the telecommunications industries; the industries known as Internet service providers and web search portals, data processing industries, and the information services industries. (Tentatively scheduled for release in early-December.)

Consolidated Federal Funds Report for Fiscal Year 2004 (State and County Areas) — Only consolidated source of data on the geographic distribution of federal expenditures, by state, county and subcounty area. (Tentatively scheduled for release mid-December.)

2004 Service Annual Survey: Health Care and Social Assistance — Data on revenues by ambulatory health-care services, hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing and residential care facilities and social assistance. (Tentatively scheduled for release mid-December.)

2004 Service Annual Survey: Truck Transportation, Couriers and Messengers, and Warehousing and Storage Sector — Data including industry tabulations on general freight trucking, courier and local messenger, warehousing and storage, size and origin of shipments, and commodities handled. (Tentatively scheduled for release mid-December.)

Facts for Features

African-American History Month — A look at statistical information from the Census Bureau's demographic and economic subject areas about the African-American community. (Tentatively scheduled for release early-December.)

Valentine’s Day — Chocolate or flowers? A look at statistical information from the Census Bureau's demographic and economic subject areas pertaining to that special day for lovers on Feb. 14. (Tentatively scheduled for release early-December.)

Special Edition: Oldest Baby Boomers Turn 60 — The generation that vowed to stay forever young is coming up on a major milestone. A look at statistical information from the Census Bureau's demographic and economic subject areas about those who were part of the spike in the birth rate from 1946 to 1964. (Tentatively scheduled for release late-December.)
