We the People: Women and Men in the United States — Part of a series of Census 2000 special reports, painting a demographic, social and economic portrait of the nation’s women and highlighting comparisons with men. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

American Community Survey Data Collection — Demographic, social, economic and housing information, usually collected every 10 years, will be collected monthly starting this month from a rolling sample of about 250,000 households across the United States and Puerto Rico. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 6.)

 

Survey-Related

Facts for Features: Women’s History Month — A collection of interesting statistics on the characteristics of women, whom we celebrate in March. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

The Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2004 — National-level tabulations on this population group by characteristics such as citizenship status, age, year of entry, poverty status and world region of birth. Includes first-ever tabulations on nativity by generation. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

Local Employment Dynamics: A Profile of Older Workers — These reports focus on older workers by industry, their age, job gains and losses, the industries in which they are concentrated, job stability and earnings. (The reports for Colorado and Pennsylvania are tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

Current Population Survey Data Collection — On Feb. 20, Census Bureau field representatives will begin visiting randomly selected households for the Current Population Survey’s update of employment data. They will also be collecting data on topics such as income, health insurance coverage, living arrangements and geographical mobility. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

Next Wave of Interviewing in Survey of Income and Program Participation — In February, interviewers will visit a national sample of randomly selected households to ask about program participation, health insurance coverage, employment, income and other topics. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 23.)

2002 Economic Census of Island Areas: Virgin Islands — Number of establishments and employees, as well as shipments, revenue and payroll as of calendar year 2002. This 2002 Economic Census report is the first use of North American Industry Classification System codes in an economic census of the island areas. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Jan. 30.)

Preliminary Information from 2002 Survey of Business Owners — Preliminary, national-level information from the Survey of Business Owners on the characteristics of people who own businesses with paid employees. Characteristics include race, Hispanic origin, age, educational attainment and working hours. (Tentatively scheduled for release the week of Feb. 6.)

2002 Economic Census: Geographic Area Series — Data for states, metropolitan areas, counties and cities — published by state and industry sector. Information on the number of establishments and employees; payroll; sales and receipts; or value of shipments. Released on a flow basis at <http://www.census.gov/econ/census02/guide/geosumm.htm>.

2002 Economic Census: Industry Series — Industry reports (e.g., the manufacture of aircraft, ice cream, jewelry) from the 2002 Economic Census. National-level information on number of employees; payroll; sales and receipts; or value of shipments. Reports have been published for nearly all industries at <http://www.census.gov/econ/census02/guide/INDSUMM.HTM>.
