National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Dana Gioia to Testify at Fiscal Year 2007 House Appropriations Hearing

Washington, D.C. - The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies, with Chairman Charles Taylor (R-NC) and Ranking Member Norman Dicks (D-WA), will hold its first hearing on the National Endowment for the Arts' Fiscal Year 2007 funding, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. The hearing will be held in Room B308, Rayburn House Office Building, located at Independence Avenue S.W. and South Capitol Street.

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Dana Gioia will present President George W. Bush's Fiscal Year 2007 budget request of $124.4 million to the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee. The request includes support for Direct Endowment Grants, State and Regional Partnerships, Challenge America: Reaching Every Community, and the national touring initiative American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius.
