TO: LOCAL FEDERAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND PRINCIPAL COMBINED FUND ORGANIZATION COORDINATORS
FROM: MARK W. LAMBERT
DIRECTOR
OFFICE CFC OPERATIONS
SUBJECT: 2008 CFC REGIONAL WORKSHOPS

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 2008 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) regional workshops. These workshops bring together members of Local Federal Coordinating Committees (LFCC), Principal Combined Fund Organizations (PCFO), and CFC-participating agencies to learn about trends and changes in the CFC and best practices in managing a successful campaign. This year's event will feature important information on the new CFC Charity Registry, E-Giving, and working with younger employees.

Regional CFC Workshops are held in two locations to allow LFCCs and PCFOs to determine which training is most cost-effective for the local campaign. The 2008 sites are Orlando, FL, March 11-14, and Las Vegas, NV, April 13-16. Take a moment to select which location best fits your budget and schedule and send in your registration form (attached). Please note the registration deadlines.

The opening day will feature a course for CFC new-comers, titled "CFC 101," which is designed for those who have less than two years experience with the campaign. We will also conduct the "Strengthening the CFC Network" session on the first day, which will give attendees an opportunity to meet their peers from their state and/or region. For further information, please refer to the Workshops Schedule at a Glance, attached.

The Annual CFC Regional Workshops are held under the auspices of the National CFC Committee, chaired by Pam Haberstroh of Community Health Charities of the National Capital Area. All logistics and program activities are coordinated by Jan Stinson, Director of the Chicago Federal Executive Board and the members of the Local Support Subcommittee. I hope you will agree that they have developed an exciting program in response to past participants' evaluations.

In order to facilitate the participation of both LFCCS and PCFOs, we encourage PCFOs to include estimated travel expenses in their 2008-09 budgets to support participation by the LFCC chair or their designated representative at a regional meeting, along with PCFO staff. While many LFCC members may secure Federal agency funding to attend the regional CFC workshops, in the event this is not feasible, LFCCs are permitted to include these expenses in the local campaign budget. Documented/supported workshop costs, including travel, are permissible campaign expenses, pending LFCC approval.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
