The Alpha-1 Association is a member-based not-for-profit organization
dedicated to identifying those affected by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1) and to improve the quality of their lives through support, education, advocacy and to encourage participation in research. Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1), a genetic disorder that can cause liver and lung disease in children and adults.
Disaster Relief Fund!
As Hurricane Ike approaches Texas, the Alpha-1 Association announces its Disaster Relief Fund to help support Alphas affected by the hurricane and other natural disasters. If you need assistance, please contact Cathey Horsak, Director of Community Programs and Outreach, at ANYTIME by calling toll-free 877-346-3212. This fund is utilized to provide funding for emergencies in a disaster such as evacuation costs, temporary hotel stays, damaged property, etc.
