Advance Response

Entities receive a one page letter, response methods insert, Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) insert, and form.

If the Census Bureau has not previously been notified through a state agreement that an entity has changes, the entity will receive Advance Response Form 1. This form will ask:

Does your entity have changes to report as of January 1st or before of the current BAS cycle?
What response method would your entity like to use?
Does your entity have contact information updates?

Entities within the states of Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin will receive Form 2 based on previously arranged partnership agreements. This form will ask:

What response method would your entity like to use?
Does your entity have contact information updates?

Boundary and Annexation Survey Package

Entities were asked during Advance Response to select the submission method they would like to use when responding to the BAS. Packages for all response methods contain a User’s Guide, letter, form, map(s), No Change postcard, and return envelope. Entities may also receive colored pencils or digital media, depending on the response method they selected. The links below provide examples of the documents included in the BAS package.

If your entity signed up for LUCA by November 19th, 2007, the LUCA contact will receive the BAS materials along with their LUCA materials.
