The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) employs 3,500 staff members and has an annual budget of more than $500 million. Battelle has managed PNNL for the federal government since the Lab was created in 1965. PNNL's core mission is to deliver environmental science and technology to meet key national needs. The lab also applies its capabilities to meet selected energy, health, and national security needs, and makes contributions to America's economy and to the education of future scientists and engineers.

For most of the past ten years, PNNL has devoted direction and resources to promote the development of Micro Chemical and Thermal Systems. In addition to our extensive R&D efforts, we have capabilities in design and development, fabrication, testing and commercialization of MICRO-CATS.
