** This figure represents the maximum total amount of AmeriCorps Education Awards that can be earned by AmeriCorps members serving in this program. At the end of a successful full-time term of service, AmeriCorps members earn an AmeriCorps Education Award of $4,725 that they can use to pay for college or to pay back qualified student loans. Part-time members earn awards in "pro-rated" amounts.
*** The dollar amounts and member slots for these 13 AmeriCorps State Competitive Grantees reflect three years of funding and members, instead of the typical single year. To strengthen our response to the long term recovery effort in the Gulf Coast, the Corporation made available $18.8 million in AmeriCorps State Competitive grant funds to support disaster response and recovery programs with a focus on programs serving in the Gulf States.
