USAJOBS Gets a New Look

The federal government's premier employment information system, USAJOBS, has changed its look. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) recently unveiled an updated USAJOBS logo and a sporty new look for its website and recruitment materials.

USAJOBS first went on line in 1996. Today, an average of 17,000 jobs are listed each day. The system is an invaluable resource for job hunters and agency recruiters.

For job hunters, USAJOBS provides a wide array of employment information such as vacancy announcements, job applications, and forms. With USAJOBS, applicants can build their resumes and even submit them electronically. Through USAJOBS, applicants not only have access to federal job listings, but to some state and local government as well as private sector listings.

An email service called USAJOBS by Email allows job seekers to register their job search criteria and receive email notification of new job postings with a direct link to the vacancy announcement. This new service saves time and causes prompt notification when a position opens.

Agencies will find a variety of effective recruiting services at USAJOBS. They can post jobs on the Hot Jobs bulletin, run banner ads, develop agency-specific search pages, and post information articles that are guaranteed to be seen because of the large amount of traffic USAJOBS receives. There are also several ways for agencies to link to their own employment information from the site.

To take advantage of everything the system has to offer, visit www.usajobs.gov. The interactive voice response telephone system can be reached at (478) 757-3000 or TTY (478) 744-2299. It is convenient, user friendly, and fully accessible to persons with disabilities. It's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. USAJOBS is available anytime, anywhere to assist job seekers and agency recruiters.
