“NISTIR 7012 Technical Requirements for Construction Materials Testing” 

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requires accreditation of laboratories for Construction Material Testing under regulation 23CFR 637. To facilitate this requirement the FHWA has established the National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation (NACLA) as the recognizing authority for evaluation of Accreditation Bodies (ABs) in this field by the Federal Register Notice of September 22, 2004.
