Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Janice Lachance will deliver the keynote address to the Million Dollar Round Table Meeting for the Combined Federal Campaign.
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the federal governments annual workplace charity drive. The Campaign includes an array of organizations from traditional direct relief organizations such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army to research groups that unlock causes and cures of mans most deadly and crippling diseases. In 1996, the most recent statistics, show federal employees donated nearly $200 million to thousands of charitable organizations across the country and around the world through the CFC.
The campaign administrators honored at the luncheon are among the 399 CFC campaigns worldwide that have raised at least $750,000. The luncheon will be held on:
In addition to addressing the group, Ms. Lachance will introduce how Employee Express (an on-line and kiosk-based computer network to assist federal employees in making benefit, payroll and personnel changes to their own records) will be used in the future by the CFC.
As OPM Director, Ms. Lachance is the chief personnel officer for the U.S. Government. The human resource agency assists other federal agencies in recruiting, examining, and promoting federal employees. The agency has played a key role in the President and Vice Presidents reinvention of government and federal downsizing initiative.
