Im happy to answer President Clintons call to engage in public service on the day we celebrate the life of a great American -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., -- by honoring his service, said Director Lachance.
Director Lachance will discuss the benefits of a career in public service at an event where young men and women in Bridgeport will pledge their time to the community. It will be held on:
In addition to volunteering their services -- promoting literacy, joining AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps, shoveling snow for a neighbor, running errands for the elderly, or organizing a neighborhood watch -- Bridgeport youths will have an opportunity to learn about Dr. Kings life and his vision for America, and hear from others about the benefits of volunteering time to those in need.
