CHCO Council Releases Report on Human Capital Practices
Washington
,
DC - The Chief Human Capital Officers (CHCO) Council today issued the first comprehensive report containing innovative Human Capital practices from across the federal government. The report, entitled Collection of Human Capital Practices, serves as a reference guide for the federal human resource community to utilize when developing their human capital strategies.
"Federal agencies have made significant improvements in their strategic human capital procedures," said U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Linda M. Springer. "As agencies continue to improve in these areas, we want to share those successes so that others may learn from them. The most effective way to collect and showcase agency human capital practices is through the Chief Human Capital Officers Council"
The report, which includes information on human capital topics such as performance management, learning and development, closing competency gaps and telework, was gathered from the high performing agencies based on key indicators in the 2006 Federal Human Capital Survey, the CHCO Council Training Academy sessions, and the Council's subcommittees.
"We believe the practices outlined in this collection will facilitate cross agency collaboration, foster strategic partnerships, and promote successful strategies," said Springer.
