To create thematic maps you need the Map Viewer software, Map files of the geographic areas (world, regions, or countries) you are interested in, and Map Data files containing the variables you want to display.
We have created a library of map files of many countries of the world. Most of the maps were obtained from sources on the Internet. In some cases we digitized paper maps obtained from users. The maps have from 1 to 4 geographic levels. The download for each country includes a Map file (*.map) and a skeleton Map Data file (*.mdf) with a dummy test variable containing random numbers. The skeleton Map Data file allows you to view the map you have downloaded and experiment with the features of the Map Viewer.
