May 16-November 7, 1993

Overview: 36 drawings were selected from Paul Gauguin's Breton Sketchbook No. 16, which he used during visits to Copenhagen and Brittany between 1884 and 1888. These works were shown as part of a continuous series of changing exhibitions highlighting drawings from the Armand Hammer collection. Margaret Morgan Grasselli, curator of old master drawings at the National Gallery, coordinated the exhibition.
