Lachance Appoints Bua As OPMs Director of Communications

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Janice R. Lachance has appointed Jon-Christopher Bua as the Director of Communications for the agency.

Bua brings to OPM extensive experience in public speaking, media training, television and radio production, and in the development and implementation of sound communications programs.

At OPM, Bua will advise Director Lachance on all communications activities, including the development and management of an effective and comprehensive media program.

We are very pleased that Jon-Christopher Bua has joined our OPM team, said Director Lachance. Jon-Christopher brings the talent and expertise needed to enhance our communications efforts and promote our programs and services that are important to the community, she added.

Prior to his appointment, Bua worked as the Director of Communications at the Small Business Administration (SBA). He has been credited for developing and launching a successful nationwide campaign on SBAs Y2K initiative, among other issues; the production of numerous videos and documentaries including The Plain Truth about Welfare To Work; training all SBA Regional Administrators, other influential agency employees, and members of the Federal Executive Boards and the SBA National Advisory Council in public speaking and marketing outreach; and establishing a unified communications system within the agency.

Bua also served as Director of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Speakers Bureau/Talk Radio Initiative where he coordinated a nationwide talk radio program and developed a comprehensive training program to prepare for radio and television appearances.

His work experience includes radio and television production, theatrical production and direction, teaching and acting. He attended the Master of Fine Arts Program at New York University and received a bachelors degree in dramatic arts from the City College of New York.
